Beginning To Feel At Home!

Outside the WHIZ complex.

The Guest House where we are staying. The outside patio is my favorite spot! Especially for sunsets!

The sunrise during our morning walk.

The food in Zambia is so good! We have the best cooks!

Nshima - the Zambian food that we can't get enough of!

We are being hit hard with classes and on top of that we have been having meeting after meeting after meeting this week with WHIZ staff. We have certain educational sessions with each individual program WHIZ sponsors so that we will be fully prepared to work with them for our Community Health hours. The programs are great and we are really excited to get started! One program is Hope for Children, which is working to sponsor children who are malnourished, don't have money to go to school, or do not have families to care for them. We have also been learning about a program called Based Care, which we will be given the privilege of going on visits to villages to care for HIV/AIDS patients.

It has been an absolutely exhausting first couple of days with little breaks and not a lot of time to do homework. Regardless, we are enjoying what we are learning about and are anxiously waiting for the time when the visits to the hospital, villages, and orphanages begin!

Also, even though it has only been four days since we arrived - we are beginning to feel right at home! The staff at the Guest House are amazing and we have been having so much fun with them! Our beds are comfortable, our meals are fabulous, the bathrooms are clean, our showers are warm, and our toilets work! So, we can't complain about anything...not even being tired and getting used to the time change!

Thanks for taking the time to be a part of my trip! I pray there will be many stories to share with you that will change your life, as well as mine!

Psalm 18:28-36 - You, O Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light with your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall. As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lrod is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.
